I will edit this as i continue to watch the video TLDR: anarchies presupposition on the idea humanity is naturally goodwilled is too lofty and it has issues with proper organization and logistics The long form: Im at the 35:29 mark of the video and this entire time anarchy just doesnt seem to hold in my head, it presupposes humans will naturally cooperate and get along with each other once when hiearchy is gone, but humanity doesnt work like that, we are naturally selfish, greedy and tribalistic, not only that but some people will be better than others in some regard, whats stopping someone with a silver tongue to organize a group of people and stage a violent take over of an area? Anarchies presuppositions rely too much on the good faith of humanity and expects people to not be antagonistic or power hungry, some people are just like that, whether its because of mental illness, belief or anything else, there will always be people who are ambitious and will try to seek out power, also, logistics and organization is an issue in anarchy, it relies too much on mutual cooperation and expects everyone will naturally work together and know exactly what they're job is, this is simply not the case, throughout history societies with a hierarchy tended to be more organized and powerful, every time anarchy or something similar to anarchy has been tried it ended up being conquered by a more organized and hierarchal society, overall i feel like anarchist thought is too reliant on the idea that humans are naturally good and moral

For so long I as a former Marxist was trying to figure out how I could explain that my country (I'm European) could contradict the interest of capitalists (through laws and regulations that require all tech companies to use USB-c ports in all phones and tablets, which directly contradicts the interests of Apple for example) while supposedly being fully controlled by this same capitalist class. Seeing the State and capitalism as two seperate but often working together makes more sense, and also acknowledges that a socialist state is not immune to bad things either (Stalin caused some really bad things for example, no matter how well intentioned or justified it may have been).

Two things. The first is population and it’s destructive nature towards the commons. If you’re having kids, you’re part of the problem. You’re effectively doubling (or more) your footprint on the planet. Twice the resource usage, twice the waste, etc., ultimately with very little pay back. Most of us are useless. Second, I keep hearing arguments about how “unfair” wealth distribution is. Not everyone is an aspiring, enterprising Type A Personality. In fact, it’s quite rare. For example, let’s say we have two people (A, B). Each gets paid exactly the same amount. Hell, let’s say they have exactly the same home, exactly the same car, exactly the same TV…and so on. Person A spends his paycheck on lottery tickets. He has no aspirations. Person B however, invests his money. It grows. Soon, he has more than Person A and decides to buy a better vehicle. A better house. A bigger TV. The question you have to ask yourself is “at what point will person A begin to hate person B for his ‘excessiveness’”? “The rich don’t pay their fair share!” Maybe the 1% don’t, but for everyone else with a modicum of wealth, you bet your booty that they pay their fair share. People that keep repeating that are either those that are wealthy and are just pushing the mantra up the ladder to sound as “concerned” as those below them on the ladder…or… …they never had anything good. They drive the standard car, live in the standard home, etc., but hey don’t have the BETTER car or the BIGGER home and so they never see the big tax payments. Nah, I say we’re screwed. 😇
